Firewall maintenance - downtime expected
Next Wednesday morning, June 2nd, 8:00h Central European Time (CET), some interruptions are expected, due to maintenance to the firewall and routers. Downtime is estimated to be less than 15 minutes.

Next Monday, April 12, 2010, BMDW will migrate to the new WHO HLA Nomenclature.

WHO Nomenclature update
To prepare for the upcoming WHO Nomenclature updates (see also http://hla.alleles.org/announcement.html) we have made available two DNA reference tables. In the Downloads section you will find, in addition to the tables for the current nomenclature that was already available, one table for the new nomenclature, and a mapping table with both old and new nomenclature.
Please note that these files are draft and based on preliminary HLA information. We will update these files on a weekly basis, to include the latest information available (ie. new NMDP allele code lists).

BMDW Database Update
According to the deadline schedule, we have update the BMDW database on 2010-02-23. The data download for registries has been made available according to this schedule.
Please note that starting this year the BMDW database will be updated on a more frequent basis (as a result of a Change Request the BMDW Office has received). We will be shortly processing new donor or cord blood files overnight, making BMDW the most up-to-date source for stem cell donors or cord blood units available online.

BMDW Newsletter 'NewsBites'
Earlier this week the BMDW Office has distributed the first 'NewsBites' newsletter to all users of BMDW. The February 2010 copy of NewsBites is available in the General Information > Documents section of the website. This will also the location where we will archive the newsletters.
