User Guide for the on-line match programs

Brief introduction

The on-line match programs provide fast preliminary search results. Access to the match programs is restricted to authorised users only, and is primarily intended for unrelated stem cell donor search co-ordinators of transplant centres and (national) stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks. Users of the on-line match programs should have a good knowledge of the HLA system. The following terms should have no secrets to you: HLA, Class I and Class II DNA, Split and Broad Antigens, Associated Antigens, Cross-reactive Antigens, Serologic vs. Genomic Tissue Typing, Minor Mismatch, Major Mismatch, Split Mismatch, Haplotype, Phenotype.
